How can you REALLY tell if you have a GENUINE 24K gold piece of jewelry, when it is engraved “24K”?
Just curious if there is a way to confirm that, let’s say a ring – that has “24K” engraved on the inside – is truly genuine 24K gold, or gold at all?
Is fake gold (such as costume jewelry) made to look real enough that 14K, or 18K, or 24K is engraved on it? I didn’t think it was permissible, but a friend told me there are makes of fake gold pieces w/these engravings to appear even more like the real thing.
